Our Story

Coda Best Bites was born out of resilience, creativity, and the need to create something lasting. Founder Jordan Waldmeier had been working as a Creative Director in Idaho for a multi-million dollar company, but when COVID struck, that opportunity was suddenly gone. With life turned upside down, Jordan made the difficult decision to return home to Lake Charles, Louisiana. Not long after, Hurricane Laura nearly destroyed his home, leaving him down on hard times and searching for stability.

Bartending kept the lights on, but no matter how many applications were sent out, that second job never came. It was in the middle of this struggle that an epiphany arrived: if the future wasn’t going to be handed over, it had to be created. Jordan realized the only way forward was to build something of his own—something that could become a legacy.

That’s where Coda was born.

The very first “Coda Bite” was sold at a small Christmas market in New Orleans’ Algiers neighborhood. What began as an idea—an ice-cream treat small enough to savor in one perfect bite—quickly grew into something bigger. Jordan’s retro-inspired style, love for storytelling, and passion for bringing people together shaped the identity of Coda: colorful, playful, and proudly Louisiana-born.

Every Coda Bite is crafted to capture that spirit: a chocolate-dipped, ice-cream-filled cone that feels familiar yet brand-new. They’re designed to be more than dessert—they’re a reminder of Saturday mornings, summer afternoons, and the joy of sharing something sweet with the people you love.

Today, Coda Best Bites is growing fast, fueled by Jordan’s determination and the support of the local community. From boutiques to big events, casinos to farmers’ markets, people are discovering that the “best bite” really can fit in the palm of your hand.
